It’s the middle of summer, which means it’s intern season for Homeschooling for College Credit. Our five teens this summer span from coast to coast. As a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers, these interns have their hands full! Over the 6-week program, they will write articles for our website, fact-check valuable dual enrollment lists, update state-by-state information, make videos, and even learn to use AI in a professional capacity. We are so proud of these young teens!
To qualify for the internship, applicants must already have a minimum of 9 college credits, have parents participating in our Facebook groups, and complete an application. Each year we have several dozen applicants!
Our interns will each receive a $500 scholarship, certificate of completion, 2 letters of recommendation, and documentation of their work to use for college and career applications. These teens are shining examples of the Homeschooling for College Credit program, and we honor their participation!
Naomi was an intern for us in 2025 and has returned as our Lead Intern this year. Naomi is in 12th grade and started earning college credit in 10th grade. She has used local dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, and Arizona State University. She is a talented writer and editor and has co-hosted an online writing camp with 200+ participants. Naomi has leadership experience working with the Young Inklings and serving as a Teaching Assistant for Honors and Advanced Placement English classes.
Elisha is in 11th grade and is homeschooled in Texas. Elisha started taking college classes at age 13, and has taken college courses in Arabic, Biology, Chemistry, and Advanced Placement History. Last year she worked a a secretary for the Student Government Association at Lone Star College, where she discovered her passion for writing and editing.
Lainey is in 12th grade and is homeschooled in Ohio. Lainey has a passion for video production, marketing, and design. She has earned 24 college credits in high school through her state’s College Credit Plus program. Lainey has taken college courses in Computer Graphic Design, Arts, Typography, Computer Science, and Statistics.
Yusuf was a Homeschooling for College Credit intern for us last year and returns this year for his senior year. Yusuf is homeschooled in Texas and has already earned 99 college credits. He is finishing an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering at Lone Star College.
Joseph is an 11th grader from Connecticut. Joseph started a chess club for homeschoolers and runs a math circle for middle and high school students. Joseph plans to enter the STEM field in the future and has earned 31 college credits in Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Programming, and Finance. Joseph enjoys taking college classes at his local community college, Connecticut State University, and Arizona State University.
